Tapit Filly Moves to Head of Her Class

A Tapit half-sister to GSW La Traviata (Johannesburg) was knocked down to Team Coolmore for $700,000, becoming the day's most expensive weanling purchase. The filly's half-sister was La Traviata (Johannesburg), who also raced for Coolmore after being purchased for $1.1 million at FTFFEB in 2006. She would go on to win the GIII Victory Ride S. Hip 783 was consigned by the sales arm of Three Chimneys Farm on behalf of the filly's breeders, John and Marsha Antonelli. It is not the first time couple have sold successfully from Piedras Negras (Unbridled), as they were the breeders of a colt by Tale of the Cat which sold for $250,000 at Fasig-Tipton in 2008.
