Hip 582, a Tapit half-sister to prominent sophomore Gun Runner (Candy Ride {Arg}), fetched a final bid of $1.4 million from Mandy Pope's Whisper Hill Farm to continue a flurry of seven-figure transactions at the September sale. Consigned by Taylor Made as agent for Three Chimneys and Besilu, the Apr. 21 foal is out of Grade II winner Quiet Giant (Giant's Causeway), herself a half-sister to Horse of the Year Saint Liam (Saint Ballado), stakes winners Congressionalhonor (Forestry) and Dance Quietly (A.P. Indy) and MGISP Miss Besilu (Medaglia d'Oro). Another half-sister Beatem Buster is the dam of GISW Buster's Ready (More Than Ready). Besilu Stables acquired Quiet Giant for $3 million from the Evans Dispersal at Keeneland November in 2011. The dam Tapit filly foaled this past May 15, Quiet Giant was bred back to Candy Ride.
