'TDN Rising Star' Ruling Court Caps Memorable Super Saturday for Godolphin

Justify | Sarah Andrew

RULING COURT (c, 3, Justify–Inchargeofme {GB}, by High Chaparral {Ire}) looked a colt potentially out of the very top drawer as he ran out an emphatic winner of the Listed Jumeirah 2,000 Guineas at Meydan, completing a four-timer on Super Saturday for William Buick, Charlie Appleby and Godolphin. The 'TDN Rising Star', who topped last year's Arqana May Breeze-up Sale when bought for €2,300,000, had only two rivals behind him as Nedawy (Instagrand) took the field along him in the early stages, before making rapid headway to lead entering the final furlong. From there he powered clear to hit the line in a time of 1:35.52, around six lengths clear of The Fingal Raven (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) and War Socks (GB) (Kameko). It was his second win from three career starts, having earned 'TDN Rising Star' status when winning a Sandown maiden by over five lengths last July, before finishing third in the G3 Acomb Stakes at York won by The Lion In Winter (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}). Sales History: $150,000 Ylg '23 KEESEP; €2,300,000 2yo '24 ARQMAY. Lifetime Record: 3-2-0-1.
O-Godolphin. B-Nursery Place, Manfuso & Wilhite (KY). T-Charlie Appleby.
