Temper Mint Patty (Congrats), the last hip through the marathon Fasig-Tipton July sale, topped the Horses of Racing Age sale with a bid of $350,000 from Jacob West, acting as agent for Mike Repole. The 3-year-old New York-bred filly, who sold as hip 524, boasts a lifetime record of 9-3-1-2 with $274,050 in earnings. She recently annexed Finger Lakes's New York Oaks July 3 for owner Mark Stanley and trainer Jeremiah Englehart. Bred by Gallaghers Stud, Temper Mint Patty was purchased by Becky Thomas for $30,000 at the 2013 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred sale as a yearling before landing with Stanley after selling for $95,000 at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton March Sale. She is the fourth foal out of the stakes-winning His Beauty (Adcat).

“She's heading up to Saratoga and going to Todd [Pletcher],” West said. “[Repole] was locked on her ever since they entered her in the sale. She's a New York-bred filly that he knows can go and compete in some New York-bred stakes.”

There were two notable RNAs from the Horses of Racing Age session in War Story (Northern Afleet), who sold as hip 508, and Come To Mischief (Into Mischief), who sold as hip 522. The multiple graded stakes placed 3-year-old gelding War Story was a $545,000 buy-back for Loooch Racing Stables and Glenn Ellis, while sophomore Come To Mischief, who won Woodbine's My Dear S. in her only career start, was a $500,000 return for Horse'n Around Stable and Martha Gonzalez.
