The Green Monkey (Forestry), who sold for a world-record price of $16 million at Fasig-Tipton Calder in 2006, has been retired and will take up stud duty at Randy Hartley and Dean De Renzo's Ocala, Florida farm in 2009, according to DRF. Campaigned by Michael Tabor, John Magnier and Derrick Smith and trained by Todd Pletcher, the colt missed most of his two-year-old season due to a gluteal injury, and made only three starts this term, finishing fourth in his last attempt in a maiden on the grass at Hollywood Nov. 21.
