The Stronach Group announced Wednesday that it will continue its long-term support of the Jockeys' Guild and its member jockeys.

Under the terms of an agreement to be effective Jan. 1, each of the six Stronach Group racetracks will continue to make payments to the Jockeys' Guild to subsidize health, life, and accident insurances, as well as short-term and long-term disability benefits for jockeys who are members of the Guild.

Tim Ritvo, Chief Operating Officer of The Stronach Group, commented: “We're extremely pleased to continue our work with the Jockeys' Guild. Guild members compete in our highest profile events such as the Pegasus World Cup Invitational and the Preakness S. We're honored to support the men and women of the Guild who risk their lives every day while continuing to work as ambassadors for our sport. As someone who rode and had a son who also rode, I know the importance of health, life and disability insurance as well as benefits for all Guild members.”

Terry Meyocks, National Manager of the Guild said, “We are truly appreciative of the strong working relationship that we have with The Stronach Group and what they are doing now, as well as everything they have done over the years, for the Guild and its members. During the past year, we began working together to address severe and traumatic brain injuries in our sport and to promote a safe racing environment for everyone. This is just yet another example of how Mr. Stronach, Belinda, and the rest of members of The Stronach Group, have demonstrated their ongoing support of our jockeys and the sport of horseracing.”
