GI Clement L. Hirsch Turf Championship S. at the Oak Tree meeting, is likely to pass on the GI Breedersí Cup Turf in favor of the GI Citation H., according to trainer Richard Mandella. ìI canít see going,î the Hall of Fame conditioner commented. ìWeíll probably think about the Citation for him. Three weeks is not enough time to prepare him [for the Breedersí Cup]. If heíd have won the Hirsch by as much as he lost, that would have made my decision harder.î The Citation is contested at 8 1/2 furlongs on Nov. 23.
