Three Chimneys Steps Out for Uptown Twirl

Three Chimneys Farm added Uptown Twirl (Twirling Candy), a half-sister to GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner and likely 2-year-old champion Classic Empire (Pioneerof the Nile), to its stellar broodmare band when Jacob West signed for the 3-year-old filly at $1.075 million during Monday's session of the Keeneland November sale. Uptown Twirl became a stakes winner for Hronis Racing and trainer John Sadler when she captured the Surfside S. at Los Alamitos in April and added the Pleasanton Oaks in June. She has won four of nine starts and earned $170,714. “It's up to [Three Chimneys owner] Mr. [Goncalo] Torrealba whether we put her back in training for the rest of the year,” West said. “The long-term plan is to add her to the broodmare band.”
