A scholarship in memory of Timothy T. Capps, who passed away at the age of 71 following a stroke Apr. 22, 2017, has been established by the University of Louisville College of Business, the college announced Friday. Capps was the director of the Equine Industry Program since 2011 and also a highly regarded consultant in the Thoroughbred industry.
“Several graduates and graduating seniors suggested creating this scholarship,” said Terri Burch, coordinator of the Equine Industry Program. “Tim loved to teach and he was a favorite of his students. Through this scholarship, we will carry on his legacy here at the University of Louisville.”
The Timothy T. Capps Memorial Scholarship will be awarded annually to a student at University of Louisville in equine business who embodies the same positive qualities that Capps exhibited throughout his life–a strong will, a passion for horses and a desire to succeed and learn. The scholarship totals $3,000, with $1,500 granted per semester. Applications for the award will be accepted yearly from November to January.
