Trainer Dale Romans will be giving the highly regarded Not This Time (Giant's Causeway) some time off after his hard-fought runner-up finish in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile with the ultimate goal being next year's GI Kentucky Derby.
“He came out of his race good,” Romans said of the Albaugh Family Stable homebred. “We'll regroup, give him the rest of the year off and focus on next year's Kentucky Derby with him.”
Prior to the Breeders' Cup, the half-brother to GI Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile hero Liam's Map (Unbridled's Song) was an emphatic 10-length maiden winner at Ellis Park Aug. 12 and a runaway winner of Churchill's GIII Iroquois S. Sept. 17.
