Takaya Shimakawa followed up his earlier purchase of a ᆬ170 million Deep Impact (Jpn) colt at the Japan Racing Horse Association select sale on July 8ᅠby going to ᆬ105 million (about $1,029,412)ᅠfor aᅠclassy filly by King Kamehameha (Jpn) who is a full sister to multiple Japanese GII winner To the Glory (Jpn). Produced by Japanese champion mareᅠTo the Victory (Jpn) (Sunday Silence), who finished second in the 2001 GI Dubai World Cup against international male runners, the filly is from the family of GI Belmont Stakes winner Creme Fraiche. “I thought the price was too expensive, but everyone recommended this filly, so I bought her,” said aᅠsmiling Shimakawa. Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm consigned the filly to the sale.
