+MIRAI (c, 2, Trappe Shot–That's Ok, by Not For Love), a $55,000 Fasig-Tipton New York-bred Preferred yearling turned $280,000 OBS March juvenile after a quarter-mile breeze inĀ :20 3/5, entered with a bit of a reputation and ran to that buzz here. Crushed down to 3-5, the chestnut broke alertly and put himself in a good spot perched three wide just off the speed. Advancing handily to assert for command after a half in :45.96, he opened up on his competition at the head of the lane and received a number of left-handers from Jose Ortiz to stay on task. Stakes-placed Ethan Hunt (Mission Impazible) flew home for second, but the race was over at that point and Mirai was wrapped up late to stride home a 3 1/2-length victor. The winner's dam is a full-sister to stakes winner and GISP juvenile Forever Partners. She produced an Overanalyze filly last term, and a Cairo Prince filly this year. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $43,800. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
