+FOREST CIRCLE (f, 2, Arch–Forest Trail {GSP, $197,521}, by Forest Wildcat) led home a one-two finish for the Mike Stidham barn with a convincing debut success here. Sent off the 12-5 second favorite, some $324 shy of her uncoupled Illinois-bred stablemate She's Fine Tuned (Maclean's Music), Forest Circle vied for the lead between runners as that trio pulled well clear of the remaining quartet. Clicked up by Mitchell Murrill at the top of the lane, the homebred filly quickened impressively and was taken in hand late to score by 8 3/4 lengths in strong final time. She's Fine Tuned was last away, caboosed the field into the stretch and rallied up the fence to be a better-than-it-looked runner-up. The winner's Grade III-placed dam, a daughter of MGSP Manoa (Seeking the Gold) and a half-sister to GI Juddmonte Spinster S. victrix Carriage Trail (Forest Wildcat), was purchased carrying this foal in utero for $220,000 at the 2013 Keeneland November sale. Forest Trail, who produced a Graydar (Unbridled's Song) filly in 2015, foaled a colt by connections' Mission Impazible (Unbridled's Song) Mar. 30.
