Spendthrift Australia has announced two new additions to their stallion roster for 2017. GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Hit It A Bomb (War Front) and Swear (Aus) (Redoute's Choice {Aus}–Crossyourheart {NZ}, by Show A Heart {Aus}), narrowly beaten into second in the G1 Moet & Chandon Spring Champion S.
Swear's dam was a champion 2-year-old in New Zealand and he cost A$725,000 as a yearling. Trained by the Hawkes team of Michael, John and Wayne, Swear went a way to justifying that price tag when winning the G3 Ming Dynasty Quality H. at Randwick last September.
“This is an exciting time at Spendthrift Australia. We have a lot of big things on the horizon as we continue to grow our brand,” said general manager Garry Cuddy. “We are particularly looking forward to standing our first colonial stallion Swear, who was a stand-out yearling at the sales for us. Swear lived up to his looks on the racetrack, and we invite everyone to come out and take a look at him. You won't be disappointed. We are also enthused to offer breeders a new young shuttler with serious pedigree and race record. Hit It a Bomb is a son of the world-renowned War Front and from a wonderful running family. He was a Grade I-winning 2-year-old on turf with a big turn of foot, and we believe breeders are going to really like him.”
Swear will be available to breeders through the farm's “Share The Upside” program for a fee of A$8,250 Inc. GST. He will also be offered at $A5,500 Inc. GST Payable On Live Foal.
