Two Sharp
TWO SHARP
Twelve months ago, Andre Fabre unleashed a subsequent 1000 Guineas winner on Newmarket’s G3 Oh So Sharp S. in Miss France (Ire) (Dansili {GB}), and while there are unlikely to be any in this year’s lineup to follow in her footsteps, there are two potentially smart Godolphin performers in Local Time (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) and Yodelling (Medaglia d’Oro). Both have been educated on the Polytrack so far, with the former taking a competitive mile conditions event last time Sept. 10 and Yodelling beating experienced rivals on debut in a similar contest over this trip Sept. 5. Saeed bin Suroor said of Local Time, “She has been working nicely and the return to seven furlongs will be fine. She is ready to go and I hope that she can run another nice race.” Charlie Appleby commented, “Yodelling has come out of her race at Kempton very well and has pleased me with her homework since. She is racing on turf and she wants quick ground. We are hopeful that she can reproduce her Polytrack form, but she won’t take part if the going is on the easy side of good.”
Of those with proven form in pattern company, Al Shaqab Racing’s Shagah (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) is the pick on her latest third in the G2 May Hill S. at Doncaster Sept. 12.
