Uncle Mo Colt Gets Florida Sale Off to a Million-Dollar Start

Uncle Mo | coolmore.com

It did not take long for the Fasig-Tipton Florida Sale to reach a highpoint, as hip 5, the third horse through the ring, fetched a final bid of an even $1 million from a partnership of Stonestreet Stables and MV Magnier. The son of Uncle Mo–one of 10 horses to share the bullet of :10 flat at Monday's under-tack show–from the stakes-winning Five Star Dream (Two Punch) was consigned to the Florida Sale by Cary Frommer, who acquired the Feb. 19 foal for just $90,000 at this auction house's Midlantic Yearling Sale at the Maryland State Fairgrounds last fall. Uncle Mo, whose previous high-water mark for a 2-year-old in training was $725,000, is, of course, the sire of champion Nyquist, who fetched $400,000 in this makeshift sales ring last winter.[bullet ad=”mulholland-foaled”]
