Auntjenn (Uncle Mo) wheels back in two weeks to face five foes in Saturday's GII Sorrento S. at Del Mar. The Ike and Dawn Thrash representative chased a solid pace before fading to fourth in her Santa Anita debut July 4, but made the lead and never looked back going a sixteenth shorter here July 23, reporting 6 1/2 lengths clear. Miss Southern Miss (More Than Ready) was highly regarded off a professional first-up tally at Santa Anita June 9 for a trainer in Keith Desormeaux who doesn't usually have his newcomers fully cranked. Backed down to odds-on for that venue's Landaluce S. a month later, she stalked out in the clear but was simply beaten on the square by Theonewewaitedfor (Creative Cause). Champagne Room (Broken Vow), a $310,000 OBS April acquisition, has a live look as she seeks her diploma. The Peter Eurton pupil sat in a good drafting spot as the 2-1 chalk here July 16, but had to wait a bit when squeezing though on the inside in the lane, and settled for second before galloping out in front. Ciao Bella Rosa (Kitten's Joy) and Rooms (Giant's Causeway) come back even quicker than Auntjenn. The former ran on late to finish third going a grassy mile July 29, while the latter was part of a contested pace in that same event and faded to seventh. Rooms finished one spot ahead of Auntjenn in their respective debuts. Unforgivable U (Langfuhr) opened her account successfully at the Oak Tree Pleasanton meet June 18, and completed the trifecta back at that venue in the Juan Gonzalez Memorial S. July 2.
