+KATHRYN THE WISE (f, 3, Uncle Mo–Shea d'Lady, by Crafty Prospector) made the most of her belated racetrack debut, pulling clear in the final furlong for a convincing victory. The bay capped a good-looking worktab with a strong half-mile move in :47 4/5 (6/42) over the Belmont main track Nov. 18 and tightened in the late stages of wagering to be off as the 9-5 chalk on debut. Outsprinted and a stalking third for the opening three-eighths of a mile, Kathryn the Wise began to draw in and made ominous progress from the three path at the exit to the turn. The homebred came to tackle at the eighth pole under a good hold and drew off from there to score by 5 1/2 lengths. Sales History: $47,000 RNA Ylg '14 SARAUG. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $33,000.
