EVERYBODYLUVSRUDY (c, 2, Union Rags–Philly's Philly, by A.P. Indy), the runner-up in each of the three maiden races he had contested to date, finally got the job done to graduate Sunday afternoon at Aqueduct. Away fairly, the 16-5 favorite settled slightly worse than midfield and in heavy traffic early on, then gradually improved his position to be just behind the first flight of horses with a half-mile to race. Clicked up four wide on the turn, he swept in front from that deep position at the quarter pole, put a couple of lengths on Into the Breach (Creative Cause) entering the final furlong and went on to prevail by three lengths. Into the Breach raced outside the eventual winner on the turn and kept on well to be second ahead of Fuel the Bern (Bernardini) in third. Everybodyluvsrudy, fifth in the GI Hopeful S., was a distant runner-up to Saturday's GII Remsen S. winner and 'TDN Rising Star' Mo Town (Uncle Mo) in a muddy Belmont maiden Sept. 24 and completed a Union Rags exacta behind longshot Hookup over course and distance Nov. 6. Everybodyluvsrudy is the 16th winner for his freshman sire (by Dixie Union) and is kin to a yearling filly of this year by Quality Road and a weanling filly by Afleet Alex. His dam, who once fetched $400,000 in foal to Dixie Union at Keeneland November, is a half-sister to MGSW sprinter Woke Up Dreamin (Holy Bull) and Denomination (Smart Strike), a G3 winner on turf on both sides of the Atlantic.
