US Army Ranger Out Of Irish Derby

US Army Ranger | Racing Post

US Army Ranger (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), second in the G1 Investec Derby, has been removed from Saturday's G1 Irish Derby, with trainer Aidan O'Brien confirming the 3-year-old has returned an unsatisfactory scope. US Army Ranger had earlier this week been odds-on to turn the tables on Epsom winner Harzand (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) at The Curragh.

“His scope just wasn't 100% clean today,” said O'Brien “It was a routine scope. Obviously it's a big pity. He'll have a little rest now and we'll see where we go from there.”

Jockey Ryan Moore is now set to ride the O'Brien-trained Idaho (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), third in the Derby.
