Vazirabad On Comeback Trail

The Aga Khan's dual Group 1-winning stayer Vazirabad (Fr) (Manduro {Ger}), who has missed a few summer targets due to injury, is reported to be in good order by Georges Rimaud, manager of the Aga Khan Studs in France. The Alain de Royer- Dupre trainee has won the last two runnings of the G1 Prix Royal Oak and won the G2 Dubai Gold Cup in March, but sustained a minor injury when winning the G2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier at Chantilly on May 28.

“He had a little problem which meant he had to miss a couple of races, including the Gold Cup,” said Rimaud. “There was also the Goodwood Cup. He wasn't going to be ready for that, which is a shame, but he is back in order now and back in work. It will be a little while before he is fit enough to run again, but hopefully he could be ready in a couple of months.”
