G1 Racing Co. Ltd's Le Vent Se Leve (Jpn) (Symboli Kris S) maintained his perfect record in the Zen-Nippon Nisai Yushun at Kawasaki on Wednesday, the second leg of Japan's Road to the Kentucky Derby. In the process, the bay gained 10 points toward a potential berth for the GI Kentucky Derby on May 5. Slowly away, the 4-5 favourite raced out in the centre of the track and was four deep and three from the back as the field entered the first turn. Improving from there, Le Vent Se Leve swooped toward the front from midpack on the far bend and inhaled his rivals in upper stretch, winning by a length over Don Fortis (Jpn) (Henny Hughes) (4 points. Haseno Pyro (Jpn) (Pyro) (2 points) was third, and Dark Repulser (Jpn) (Hard Spun) (1 point) was fourth. Le Vent Se Leve opened his career with a seven-length win at Niigata in August and added the Platanus Sho at Tokyo on Oct. 14.
Le Vent Se Leve is out of the four-time winner Maestrale (Jpn) from the extended family of Japanese stakes winners Rosen Kavalier (Jpn) (Sunday Silence) and Summer Suspicion (Jpn) (Sunday Silence). His fourth dam is Japanese MGSW Dyna Fairy (Jpn) (Northern Taste).
