Marc Ferrell's VinMar Farm will completely disperse its Thoroughbred stock at the upcoming Keeneland September Yearling Sale and November Breeding Stock Sale, the sales company announced Tuesday. The 19-horse consignment, which will be handled by Archie St. George's St. George Sales, includes six yearlings, eight broodmares and five weanlings. All will be offered without reserve.

“You will find our offerings to be attractive to all levels of the industry,” said Ferrell. “My family has enjoyed our entire experience as successful Thoroughbred owners and breeders and have made so many great friends along the way. The time has come for us to take a step back and focus on the development and growth of my new company and the raising of our seven children. I am confident we will return in the future at some capacity as Thoroughbreds have been part of my blood since I was very young.”

Yearlings to be offered at the September sale, which starts Sept. 12, are by such sires at Quality Road, Super Saver, Violence and Shanghia Bobby.

Ferrell grew up going to the races at Santa Anita and began working for Hall of Fame trainer Jack VanBerg in 1987. He developed and operates VinMar Farm in Versailles and has campaigned graded stakes winners Madame Cactus, Second Summer, Goldsville and Called to Serve.

“Marc Ferrell and VinMar Farm are associated with good horses, and it's been a pleasure to work with them,” said St. George. “It's sad to see the dispersal, but we are happy to be asked to represent their consignment.”
