QUIVERY (f, 2, Violence">Violence–Passion du Coeur, by Distorted Humor), who became the first European winner for her freshman sire (by Medaglia d'Oro) over seven furlongs at Doncaster on debut June 18, was sent off the 8-11 favourite and settled behind the leaders throughout the early stages. Angled stand's side for her closing effort approaching the final two furlongs, the $30,000 OBSAUG yearling and $360,000 OBSMAR 2yo veered to the far rail after taking over with 1 1/2 furlongs to race and had 3/4 of a length to spare over the eye-catcher Dixieland Diva (Cape Blanco {Ire}) at the line. Quivery is the fourth winner from as many foals to race out of Passion du Coeur, who also has a yearling colt by Union Rags. Her dam is the stakes scorer Arianna's Passion (Unbridled's Song), whose GII Distaff H. and GII Bed o' Roses H.-placed daughter Distorted Passion (Distorted Humor) went on to produce the GII Lake GeorgeS. and GIII Noble Damsel S. winner and GI Just a Game S. third Mrs McDougal (Medaglia d'Oro).
