War Front Colt Two Out Hero Bags 'TDN Rising Star' On Debut At Woodbine

With a soft crunch of the ground beneath and a spring in that step of his out of the box, Two Out Hero (War Front–Song River, by Liam's Map) was smashing as he graduated on debut at Woodbine on Sunday which earned him a 'TDN Rising Star' patch for his saddlecloth.

In a race which was moved from the turf to the all-weather, the 2-year-old first-timer did not mind the new surface one iota. Tearing up the base paths, Two Out Hero clearly distanced himself from the rest of field up the backstretch and proceeded to stretch a double into a triple. Looking like a seasoned pro for Al Gold's ball club, the colt found more as he came home. Aki (Midshipman), who was called up to make his first start, was the runner-up.

The winner is his dam's first register foal of record. MSP Song River (Liam's Map) is also responsible for a yearling filly by Cody's Wish and a March weanling filly by Constitution. As for Two Out Hero's second dam, she is SW Harlan's Honor (Harlan's Holiday), who was $200,000 purchase by Jackpot during the 2021 Keeneland November Sale while SP Glean (McKinzie) was in-utero. Harlan's Holiday claims as a half-sister SW March X Press (Shanghai Bobby), the dam of GIII Dwyer Stakes hero Fort Bragg (Tapit).
