Lull, a front-running three-length winner on debut over the Belmont lawn July 16, clipped heels and fell nearing the quarter pole as the 6-5 favorite in her second outing in Saratoga's Bolton Landing S. Aug. 17. Coming away well under Brian Hernandez, Jr. she stalked in a comfortable third along the rail on the turn. Tipping out past the quarter pole, she stayed on gamely to reel in Caroline Test by the sixteenth pole and triumphed going away. The winner's dam Quiet Now, purchased by Claiborne for $1.85 million as part of the Ned Evans dispersal at the 2011 Keeneland November sale, is a half to 2005 Horse of the Year and GI Breeders' Cup Classic hero Saint Liam (Saint Ballado) and to graded stakes winner Quiet Giant (Giant's Causeway), the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Gun Runner (Candy Ride {Arg}).
