+MY GIRL COREY (f, 3, Warrior's Reward–Inspirational, by Lord At War {Arg}) proved victorious in her career unveiling Sunday at the Big A. Purchased for $310,000 as an OBSMAR juvenile after previously selling for $150,000 as an OBSAUG yearling, the dark bay prepared for this debut with a steady series of four-furlong drills over the Belmont training track and was sent postward with a 3-1 chance. Away in good order from her inside draw, she dueled early on with 5-2 second choice Tizsomethingroyal (Tizway) as 7-5 favorite Mahabodhi Tree (Into Mischief) sidled up alongside those two soon thereafter. My Girl Corey was urged to keep a slim advantage through a quarter in :24.16 and inched away to arrive at the top of the stretch with a length cushion. She gradually pulled clear from there to score a 4 1/4-length victory, with Tizsomethingroyal and Mahabodhi Tree completing the trifecta. The winner is a half to The Niagara Queen (Langfuhr), GSW, $581,172. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $36,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
