WILDCAT KATE (f, 3, Kantharos">Kantharos–Kombat Kitty, by Wildcat Heir) romped by 15 3/4 lengths when unveiled in a $50,000 maiden claimer over a sloppy track at Gulfstream Park West Oct. 20 and was second in the state-bred Juvenile Fillies Sprint S. There next out Nov. 12. The bay was sent off at 12-1 in this test despite finishing second to previously undefeated favorite Bode's Dream (Bodemeister) last time in this venue's House Party S. Dec. 10. Glued to the chalk's outside shoulder through an opening quarter in :22.63, the bay kept after Bode's Dream as they completed a half in :45.69. The favorite began to weaken in mid-stretch, but Wildcat Kate was relentless and edged away late for a narrow success in 1:22.46. Lifetime Record: 4-2-2-0.
