Winter Storm Forcing Multiple Cancellations

The winter storm, which caused massive flooding in the southeast before wreaking havoc with heavy snow and winds from North Carolina to Connecticut, resulted in officials at the Maryland Jockey Club cancelling Saturday's racing at Laurel Park Friday afternoon. Officials at Charles Town Racing and Slots in West Virginia and Penn National and Philadelphia Park in the Keystone state have also announced that no live racing will take place at either of those venues. The live racing program at West Virginia's Mountaineer Park would also seem to be in jeopardy due to the storm, which is expected to drop up to two feet of snow.
