El Divino (Aus) (Snitzel {Aus}), a 4-year-old half-brother to Winx (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire}), was euthanised on Friday after suffering a serious injury while training, according to Racing.com.
Named a 'TDN Rising Star' on the merit of a winning debut at two, El Divino, who raced as a homebred for John Camilleri of Fairway Thoroughbreds, followed up with a dead-heat win in the G3 Kindergarten S. next out for trainer Gai Waterhouse, but never quite built on that promise. Transferred to Darren Weir earlier this year, El Divino failed to find the winner's enclosure again but was a half-length runner-up to the smart Brave Smash (Jpn) (Tosen Phantom {Jpn}) in listed company on Sept. 9.
