Morton Fink homebred Wise Dan (Wiseman's Ferry), who capped his season with a successful defense of his title in the GI Breeders' Cup Mile, was rewarded for a 6-for-7 2013 campaign with a second consecutive Eclipse Award as champion turf male. Also successful in the GI Maker's 46 Mile, GI Woodbine Mile and GI Shadwell Turf Mile, Wise Dan received a near-unanimous 243 first-place votes. GI Breeders' Cup Turf hero Magician (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) earned four top votes and Obviously (Ire) (Choisir {Aus}) received a single first-place nod.
