Zazu Off to Japan Following $2.1M Sale

She was always the littler 'Z' in the barn, but Jerry and and Moss's Zazu (f, 4, Tapit–Rhumb Line, by Mr. Greeley) was one of the stars on a day filled with them Tuesday at Keeneland. The attractive grey filly, consigned on behalf of the Mosses by Lane's End's sales agency, was purchased for $2.8 milllion and is off to a second career at stud in Japan after being acquired by Northern Farm. A $285,000 Keeneland September yearling acquisition, Zazu was a winner of the Mocassin S. at two, but blossomed further at three, with Grade I placings in the Santa Anita Oaks, Kentucky Oaks and Clement L Hirsch S. before defeating her elders in the GI Lady's Secret S. Zazu was offered as a broodmare prospect only.
