Zenyatta (Streey Cry {Ire}–Vertigineux, by Kris S.), perfect in her seven starts last year, capped off the amazing campaign with a tour de force in the GI Breeders' Cup Distaff and with the Eclipse as top older mare. Owned by Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Moss, she was bred by Maverick Production Ltd and trained by John Shirreffs. The dark bay took 240 of the 242 first-place votes in the category.
