As has been widely expected, Jerry and Ann Moss's Zenyatta (Street Cry {Ire}) will attempt to run her record to a perfect 18 from 18 when she faces five other mares in Saturday's GI Clement L. Hirsch S. at Del Mar. The two-time champion older mare drew the five hole with regular rider Mike Smith and is the 123-pound highweight under allowance conditions; she will give her rivals only two to four pounds. The six-year-old gave her backers and fans arguably the biggest scare of her career in the 2009 Hirsch, racing well off a slow pace before getting up in the final two jumps. She also took the 2008 renewal.
