Amazombie (Northern Afleet) began 2011 with an upset victory in the Sunshine Millions Sprint S. and ended it with a tally in the GI Sentient Jet Breeders' Cup Sprint, and for his exertions was named champion sprinter at the Eclipse Awards. A winner of five of nine over last season, the 6-year-old also won the GI Ancient Title S. and GII Potrero Grande S. Amazombie is owned by Thomas C Sanford and Bill Spawr and is trained by Spawr. The final vote total was: Amazombie, 201; Caleb's Posse (Posse), 42; Regally Ready (More Than Ready), 2; The Factor (War Front), 2; Jackson Bend (Hear No Evil), 1.
