Crack sprinter Terravista (Aus) (Captain Rio {GB}) will require a financial sponsor if he is to be aimed at The Everest, Australia's new A$10m contest which will take place at Randwick in October. The 7-year-old showed he has lost none of his dash when narrowly beating Spieth (NZ) (Thorn Park {Aus}) and Star Turn (Aus) (Star Witness {Aus}) in the G1 Black Caviar Lightning at Flemington on Saturday and despite the victory his ten strong team of owners feel the A$1.8m required to nominate for The Everest is beyond their reach. Terravista's trainer Joe Pride is now on the hunt for a suitable sponsor and commented, “I feel I have to have the horse ready for that race. I'm sure we can find a backer.” In the meantime Pride is considering shorter term options for the gelding. These options include the G1 Newmarket H. over 1200m at Flemington on Mar. 11 or the G2 Challenge S. over 1000m at Randwick a week earlier.
