Co-trainer Peter Snowden has certainly not lost faith in Russian Revolution (Aus) (Snitzel {Aus}) despite his fifth place finish behind Chautauqua (Aus) (Encosta De Lago {Aus}) when favourite for he G1 TJ Smith S. last weekend. The 3-year-old raced quite keenly for Kerrin McEvoy in the early stages, something that took its toll at the business end of the race. “It was probably a good reality check with him,” Snowden told Racing And Sports. “It's pretty obvious he's doing things too hard within himself. We will be working on him to get his manners in hand; we've got to get him back in behind a horse to get cover. He's a very good horse, but we've not seen the best of him because of the way he's racing at the moment.” Snowden is hopeful that the colt can add to his Group 1 victory achieved in the G1 Galaxy at Rosehill Mar. 18 and intends to point the Newgate Farm, SF Bloodstock , China Horse Club and partners owned colt to the G1 Doomben 10,000. “I'm pretty sure he'll go to Brisbane. He'll probably run in the 10,000 in about six weeks' time. A good draw would certainly help, but we'll work on the few traits he has, and if we fix them, I'm sure it'll go a long way to improving the horse's performance on raceday,” the trainer added.
