A filly by Encosta de Lago (Aus) out of 2000 G1 Golden Slipper S. winner Ha Ha (Aus) (Danehill) brought a final bid of A$700,000 to top the second session of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in Queensland Thursday. Appropriately, it was trainer Gai Waterhouse, who guided Ha Ha to a juvenile filly championship, who signed the ticket on behalf of Western Australia's Mount Hallowell Stud, owned by Craig Thompson. Ingham Racing was the underbidder on the Glastonbury Farms consignee. “She reminds me very much of Ha Ha,” Waterhouse said. “She has a huge hindquarter, a beautiful hindquarter, but has development to go.” Thompson is the owner and manager of the shipping company Seacorp. “I came here specifically to buy this filly,” he remarked. “Just look at her pedigree.”
