Lots of ‘Chatter’ About FG Oaks Favorite

Fletcher & Carolyn Gray’s I’m a Chatterbox (Munnings) looms an imposing presence in Saturday’s GII Fair Ground Oaks off back-to-back wins since being transferred to Larry Jones. Fourth in the GII Golden Rod S. in her final try for Ken McPeek last November, the homebred went straight to the front and found herself eight lengths clear of Forever Unbridled (Unbridled’s Song) at the wire of the Silverbulletday S. Jan. 17. She employed completely opposite tactics in the Feb. 21 GIII Rachel Alexandra S., but the result was the same, as she rallied wide from last to win going away. Forever Unbridled was third. I’m a Chatterbox was installed the 6-1 individual favorite for the GI Kentucky Oaks during future wagering at the beginning of the month, and will be saddled by a conditioner who boasts a pair of wins in this event with subsequent Kentucky Oaks heroines.

Regis Racing’s ‘TDN Rising Star’ Shook Up (Tapit) aired by 13 1/2 lengths when stretched out in the slop here Jan. 3, but was a green second to Rachel Alexandra runner-up Lovely Maria (Majesticperfection) at short odds in an optional claimer 23 days later. She faded to fifth in the Rachel Alexandra last time.

If I’m a Chatterbox rates early, longshot Jugni (Colonel John) could find herself loose on the lead. The Naveed Chowhan colorbearer has never raced beyond six panels, and enters off a sharp box-to-wire optional claiming victory Feb. 14.
