He’s The Mos

Denied a chance to test his raw material when an 11th-hour withdrawal from the G1 Prix Jacques le Marois, Vadamos (Fr) (Monsun {Ger}) who is held in the highest regard by Andre Fabre takes to Baden-Baden on Thursday to spice up the G2 Darley Oettingen-Rennen. Ruled out of Deauville’s mile highlight due to a fever, Haras de Saint Pair’s 4-year-old has all the right physical credentials to support his trainer’s hope that “he can be my new Manduro” and earned a supplementary entry to that Aug. 16 feature after working impressively. His form lacks the clout of his reputation at present, with wins in last July’s Listed Prix Frederic de Lagrange over 12 furlongs at Vichy and a 10-furlong Chantilly conditions event on his sole seasonal outing July 12 interspersed with a disappointing seventh of eight in Longchamp’s G2 Prix Niel over the former distance in September. If Vadamos is as good as he’s cracked up to be, there should be little to stand in his way here with the 3-year-old filly Full Rose (GB) (Aqlaam {GB}) coming off a disappointing fifth in the G2 Meilen Trophy at Hanover July 12. Previously, Jaber Adbdullah’s chestnut had beaten the subsequent listed winner Nymeria (Ger) (Soldier Hollow {GB}) in Dusseldorf’s G2 German 1000 Guineas at the end of May and may be worth another chance to prove herself better than the Meilen Trophy’s second and third Felician (Ger) (Motivator {GB}) and Red Dubawi (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}).
