The Irish National Stud has welcomed the 26 students from seven countries that will make up the intake of its Thoroughbred Breeding Course in 2016. The Breeding Course has been held since 1971 and is designed to provide students with a hands-on approach to every aspect of horse breeding. Students work in the yards, attend lectures and visit other farms, racing stable and companies and attend industry events in addition to completing assignments, projects and final exams.
“We are delighted to welcome the class of 2016,” said student liaison officer Sally Carroll. “The Thoroughbred Breeding Course is a fantastic opportunity for each student to gain valuable experience in the bloodstock industry. We hope all 26 students will enjoy their time at the Irish National Stud.”
