This blockbuster card kicks off with a solid-looking maiden affair for juvenile males. Getting the tepid 3-1 nod on the morning line is a Silverton Hill entry comprised of Wesley Ward-trained NERINX (Scat Daddy) and Brian Lynch pupil Tyler U (Into Mischief). The former is a half to G2 UAE Derby winner and GI Breeders' Cup Classic and GI Pacific Classic S. runner-up Toast of New York (Thewayyouare), while the latter is distantly related to last Saturday's GI Mother Goose S. heroine Off the Tracks (Curlin). Altito (Bernardini), a $270,000 KEESEP yearling, is a daughter of 2005 GI Kentucky Oaks heroine Summerly (Summer Squall). The Shortleaf Stable colorbearer has fired five-straight bullet drills at Fair Hill and locally for the usually patient Shug McGaughey. Condo Price (Paddy O'Prado) is a son of MGSW and 'TDN Rising Star' Yearly Report (General Report), making ftlinethe $65,000 KEESEP grad a half to fellow Rudy Rodriguez trainee and Grade I-winning juvenile Condo Commando (Tiz Wonderful). New York-bred Bobby On Fleek (Frost Giant) shows a speedy set of local drills for Chad Brown. The chestnut is out of a half-sister to 'Rising Star' Due Diligence (War Front), a romping debut juvenile winner sprinting on the Saratoga turf for Brown who was later a stakes winner in Ireland and Group 1-placed at Royal Ascot. Phipps Stable homebred PROMOTE (Blame">Blame) faces a tall task as he looks to build upon a head-turning, 'TDN Rising Star'-earning debut success here May 22 (video). The Shug McCaughey trainee spots his competition plenty of experience, age and Beyer points, but as a grandson of Hall of Famer Inside Information (Private Account) from a typically deep Phipps family, he certainly possesses plenty of upside. Last year's GI Kentucky Derby runner-up FIRING LINE (Line of David) makes his much-anticipated first start since finishing far back in the GI Preakness S. and later undergoing surgery for an ankle chip. The Arnold Zetcher colorbearer was just a head second to Dortmund (Big Brown) in the GI Los Alamitos Futurity at the end of his juvenile season, and again came up just short of that runner in the GIII Robert B. Lewis S. the following February. He aired by 14 1/4 lengths in the GIII Sunland Derby that March, and was certainly flattered by the subsequent exploits of American Pharoah (Pioneerof the Nile), who only beat him by a length in the Derby en route to a Triple Crown sweep and Horse of the Year campaign.
