Chalk Racing's Ready for Rye (City Zip) exited his victory in Saturday's GII Fasig-Tipton Swale S. in good shape and will likely stick to sprinting in the near future, according to trainer Tom Albertrani. “He looked fine this morning,” Albertrani said. “I think for now [we're going to keep him sprinting]. I'm not convinced that he might go that far, but he got a 109 Beyer out of the race [Saturday], so that's pretty impressive. I think if we stick to a seven-eighths race like the [Apr. 4 GIII] Bay Shore that might be good spot to try him again, and maybe go from there.”
Let's Go Racing, WinStar Farm and China Horse Club's Daredevil (More Than Ready), who earned a 103 Beyer speed figure for his runner-up effort in the Swale, will make his next start in a GI Kentucky Derby prep, but which race is still up in the air.
“He exited the race in very good shape,” reported Let's Go Racing's Bryan Sullivan told TDN. “We're not sure where we're going next, we're heading to one of the preps, but we're not sure which one.”
