Bolger Graduate to Japan

As detailed by Kelsey Riley in these pages last week, Jim Bolger has established a broodmare band of some repute at his Redmondstown Stud, which parted company with several of its members on Friday. 

Maoineach, a dual Group 3-winning daughter of Congaree (lot 1141), was bought in foal to Dawn Approach (Ire) by Dermot Farrington for €150,000, while the young stallion’s 7-year-old half-sister Wake Me Up (Ire) (Rock Of Gibraltar {Ire}) (lot 1139) was offered carrying a very close relative by his sire New Approach (Ire). 

She will be joining an equally illustrious broodmare band, having been bought by Northern Farm representative Hirofumi Kawasaki for €120,000 on behalf of Katsumi Yoshida. In total, six Redmondstown mares were sold for €479,000.
