Champions Day Plan For Ballydoyle Fillies

Aidan O’Brien is readying a formidable squad for British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday that includes, among others, the high class fillies Found (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) and Tapestry (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}). Both fillies were last seen running in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe just over a week ago where Found fared best after a troubled passage to finish ninth, five lengths behind Golden Horn (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}). She previously finished a good second to the Arc winner in the G1 Irish Champion S. at Leopardstown and according to O’Brien the 2014 G1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner will be aimed at the G1 Qipco Champion S. over ten furlongs. Tapestry will bid to bounce back from a disappointing effort in the Arc and will tackle the G1 Qipco British Champions Fillies And Mares S. Reflecting on a highly successful weekend that saw Air Force Blue (War Front) and Minding (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) stake major claims for Classic glory next year O’Brien commented, “Air Force Blue seems grand this morning. We have had a good few days and it is nice to have a couple of nice 2-year-olds. I’d imagine they are both finished for the season.”
