More G1 Deutsches Derby clues are on offer on Sunday as Hanover stage the G3 Bavarian Classic, and one who could stir the soul ahead of the Hamburg showpiece is Gestut Fahrhof’s Quasillo (Ger) (Sea the Stars {Ire}). Sharing his sire with last year’s German sensation Sea the Moon (Ger), the homebred was introduced by Andreas Wohler to win with authority on his debut over 11 furlongs at Munich Apr. 19 and is likely to start a hot favorite to build on that impression. His biggest threat appears to be Stall Lucky Owner’s Ajalo (Fr) (King’s Best), who was runner-up to Quasillo’s stable companion Karpino (Ger) (Cape Cross {Ire}) in Krefeld’s G3 Dr Busch-Memorial over 8 1/2 furlongs last time Apr. 26.
