F-T Midlantic Fall Yearlings Sale Monday
The Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Fall Yearlings Sale gets underway in Timonium Monday morning at 10 a.m. A total of 450 yearlings have been catalogued for the one-day auction. During the 2013 fall yearling sale, Fasig-Tipton sold 289 head for a gross of $7,469,900. The average was $25,847–up 15.7% from the 2012 figure–and the median was $17,000, a 41.7% increase. A son of Quality Road out of Chalonnaise (French Deputy) topped last year’s sale when selling to Bortolazzo Stables for $250,000. The sale-topper was consigned by Candyland, which also consigned a yearling by Indian Charlie out of Ten Halos (Marquetry). Sold for $75,000 to pinhooker Cary Frommer, the colt resold for $190,000 as an OBS March juvenile. Now named Cinco Charlie, he won the GIII Bashford Manor S. and was third in the GII Sanford S. Among its 2014 consignment, Candyland will offer a half-brother by Uncle Mo to Cinco Charlie (hip 422), as well as a Hard Spun filly out of Chalonnaise (hip 79).
