Fed Biz Retired to WinStar

Fed Biz (Giant’s Causeway–Spunoutacontrol, by Wild Again), a runaway winner of this term’s GII San Diego H. at Del Mar and a game runner-up behind champion Shared Belief (Candy Ride {Arg}) in Santa Anita’s GI Awesome Again S. Sept. 27, has been retired and will stand the 2015 breeding season at WinStar Farm in Versailles, Ky. His fee has been set at $12,500 stands and nurses.

“Fed Biz is an awesome physical by a proven sire of sires, Giant’s Causeway,” said Elliott Walden, WinStar President & CEO. “He profiles identically to Distorted Humor. Both are good-looking, well-bred multiple Grade II winners with similar earnings, and both are track record-setters at seven furlongs at major racetracks. Both were also very sound and ran until five. Add to it that Fed Biz is closely related to top sires Pulpit, Tale of the Cat, and Johannesburg on the dam’s side. He has every chance to be a top WinStar stallion for the next 15 years.”

Racing in the colors of Kaleem Shah, the $950,000 KEESEP yearling graduate also posted wins in the GII San Fernando S. and GII Pat O’Brien S. He defeated two-time GI Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile hero Goldencents (Into Mischief) while establishing a new track record for seven furlongs at Del Mar in his Pat O’Brien win last year. Fed Biz was produced by a stakes-winning half-sister to Tale of the Cat and Myth, the dam of Johannesburg. Fed Biz’s second dam, Yarn, is a full sister to the dam of Pulpit. Fed Biz retires with a record of 19-6-3-3 and earnings of $770,496.

“I’ve trained a lot of good-looking horses, but Fed Biz is a horse I saw in the back ring at Keeneland and had to have,” Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert commented.
