Fillies’ Classics Return as British World Pool Races in Q2
Newmarket’s 1,000 Guineas and the Oaks from Epsom will return as World Pool races this year, with the full list of 2026 Q2 fixtures being confirmed by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
As was the case last year, the World Pool season in Britain will kick off with the 2,000 Guineas from Newmarket on Saturday, May 2, with a full card available to punters in 27 jurisdictions.
The following day, the 1,000 Guineas, the second Classic of the British Flat season, will also be commingled, having last been a World Pool race in 2024.
Another Classic returning as a World Pool event is the Oaks at Epsom on Friday, June 5. The race was last globally commingled in 2022, when Aidan O’Brien’s Tuesday came home in front under World Pool ambassador Ryan Moore.
All races on Oaks day will be part of World Pool, as will all races on at Epsom on Saturday, June 6 when the Derby takes centre stage.
Meanwhile, in Australia, a new World Pool raceday confirmed for Q2 is All Aged Stakes day, which takes place at Randwick on Saturday, April 18. For the first time, all races from that card will be commingled.
