Firing Line to Miss Los Al Derby

GI Kentucky Derby runner-up Firing Line (Line of David) will miss an expected start in the July 4 GII Los Alamitos Derby. The colt, seventh in the GI Preakness S., missed a scheduled workout last Saturday due to a sore right front foot. “It’s not quite cleared up and we’ve decided against the Los Al race,” trainer Simon Callaghan said. “I think it could develop into an abscess, but it’s not major. We’ll get him right and hopefully look for a summer campaign.”
